When I go looking for a new game, I am often on the lookout for new and novel ideas. Perhaps a rarely- or never-seen-before mechanic; or how about something which captivates on an already engaging mechanic and makes it truly spectacular? That’s my usual tastes, so it was my surprise when I found my thumb itching to press the “Download” button for Looney Tunes World of Mayhem, of which there is very little of new, or never seen before, or even improvement on mechanics. However, if there’s one thing that definitely made me click onto it, it was the Looney Tunes brand itself. Sometimes, brand awareness really is best – And here is what I think about World of Mayhem.
Ever wondered what a game of filling up a glass of water looks like? Yeah, well, neither did I… And yet, that’s what it’s come to ladies and gentlemen. However, don’t think that this is a bad title, indeed it’s a rather fun little game about filling up a glass of water. How can that be? Well, you turn it into a sweet little puzzler title and suddenly you’ve got water flowing everywhere, sometimes for good, sometimes for bad. Since the first smartphones came out, there has been a rising demand for more and more games. They’re an amazing distraction and when one of them takes off, they get massive – arguably more so than a PC or console title does. However, one thing I’d like to chat about is the recurring theme in smartphone games – About how all you need to do to play, is to wait, or to just tap the screen a million times. Whatever happened to innovation – Or are we about to see a new surge of innovative titles?
