Rule #1: Do not act incautiously when confronted by bald, wrinkly, smiling men.
This rule applies to all elderly people who smile knowingly in the face of danger. It’s always worth listening to walking sticks to check for hidden swords, or observe hairpins for potential weaponization. Are those slippers for shambling slowly to the bathroom, or for whupping young whipper snappers into shape? Do they still have their own teeth? Either way it’s bad news.

Strictly speaking anyone with a mechanical augmentation that replaces a body part (or becomes a body part) is a cyborg, so why not call this list Top 10 Cyborgs?

We saw this one coming.
The mind is a strange and enigmatic thing, filled with mysteries and incredible powers of calculation, empathy, and moving stuff around. Alright, the last one is mostly fictitious, but the abilities of our super-advanced lightning-sponge just aren’t enough for most people, so we simply have to make stuff up.

Alloy there, fellow Geeks. Last week, you chose for us to do the Top 10 Metals, which is great. Joel and Timlah sat there and started to list out: Slayer. Slipknot. Wait a minute, we can’t do metal music! This is the Top 10 metal in geek, but how does this one even work?
When we were thinking up this week’s list, we needed to be sure that our list followed a few specific criteria. If it was a metal, it had to have something interesting about it. If it was the music genre, it had to be included in some form of geek media, such as a video game, or a movie. With this said, we set to work and we came up with a list of the Top 10 Metals. Put your Devil Horns in the air and let’s rock – err metal! (more…)

Honestly, you guys pick some of the most random topics for us to talk about. This week, we felt absolutely boxed in by your decision, as we’ve been given the gift of boxes to write a Top 10 about. But let’s be frank here. A box is not just a solid mass that’s in the shape of a cube (Sorry Companion Cube). No, a box must be able to have things inside of it in some capacity. That changes our scope from the get go.
Ah, we can’t contain ourselves any more. This list cannot be held any longer, it’s time for this weeks Top 10!

For the most sobering quote you’ll ever hear: Death happens. I’m sorry to tell you, but whether you’re playing through Half-Life, or even a jolly old game such as Super Mario brothers, death happens. One thing about death is that it does take you by surprise. Your character may let out a little yelp from pain, or perhaps he or she’ll get some form of fanfare in his or her honour? Honestly though, we’re not going to lie… We were a bit weirded out that you, the GeekOut universe, wanted to pick… the agonising… Screaming… Death sounds of the world of games. But, you chose it and we’re going to deliver it! This is our Top 10 Death Noises in Games!
