In the first part of my UK Games Expo Kickstarter roundup, I mentioned a game involving Goblins by Room 17 games called Miremarsh. Now that the Kickstarter is live I listened back to the play through that I recorded at UKGE this year and wanted to give my full opinion on it. As per usual, we would like to remind you that this is a Kickstarter Campaign and as such things can change, so some of the information here may be out of date by the time the game is published.
For the first time in a few months, Joel and I decided to bring back our Top 10’s. So we didn’t want to come back and do things in our usual way. No, we wanted to out-do ourselves by going for a topic that was just so big, it had to be larger than life. We thought long and hard about what to do on the return to Top 10’s and this is what we came up with, our Top 10 Mythological Creatures.
Before we start this post, let us get one thing out of the way with. A mythological creature here is defined as something you would see within myths, that wasn’t a unique myth. An example of a unique myths includes Anubis, the god of embalming and the dead. With that definition out of the way, it’s time to begin – but before we do, we have a pre-top 10 honourable omission to get out there…
Have you ever seen people sitting around in places, such as coffee shops/cafes playing these strange card games? Don’t you ever just think that they look peculiar playing these strange card games? You do? How dare you, I am one of these strange grown men with an affiliation of playing card games in coffee shops and cafes. In fact, come to think of it, I normally play these at places such as the local Starbucks (or in my case one of the other coffee shops that are jotted around Bristol, such as the Coffee King in Cribbs Causeway).
Whilst it’s all well and good that people like me will sit around and play these card games, if you’ve ever been swayed by them in the past then you’d realise they seem incredibly complex to get into. Especially the one we’re talking about today – Magic: the Gathering.
