What Is NORAD Tracks Santa?

Anyone who has any form of interest in Christmas and how it’s applied in the digitial age, then you may not need to look much further. NORAD Tracks Santa is a programme that has been around since 1955; run by the North American Aerospace Defense Command, NORAD offers a way to show people where Santa Claus is in the world. This turned out to be one of the harder questions in this month’s GeekOut Bristol Meet, as it turns out that whilst most people knew of some form of Santa tracker, people weren’t sure on the name… Or why it even exists. As such, I thought it’d be fun to look at what NORAD Tracks Santa is, how it came to be and what it does today.

Discord vs Valve: Discord’s New Game Library

Hoo boy, it only felt like a few months ago that I reported on the new game’s hub on the Discord app. Sure, that wasn’t such big news, but this time around, Discord are bringing themselves in direct competition with video-game monolith, Valve. They are creating a Game’s Library/Store, akin to that of what Steam users are currently used to. This is all well and good, but what do Discord think they can do differently? This is currently being tested in Canada*, but this is what the rest of the world can expect once it’s moved into more countries around the world. Along with this, today’s article will contain a few of my personal opinions on the matter.

Card Game Review: Lightseekers

Whilst at AmeCon 2018, I went to the traditional games room quite frequently, to play a spot of Magic: the Gathering. On the Sunday of the event, I noticed there was a new stall in the room for a game called Lightseekers, which they had practice games going for. Throughout the day, I would walk up to it, inspect it and consider whether or not it was worth picking up. The sales people were friendly, albeit persistant. So, after some talking from both the sales person and from Jake, I finally decided that I’d go ahead and throw £40 their way for two of their decks, along with two play mats, two booster packs AND two metal life tokens – Not bad! But how does it play?
