Geek Proud, GeekOut.

GeekOut Bristol Meet: January 11th – New Year’s Resolutions

Every month, we hold a GeekOut Bristol Meet and GeekOut Shrewsbury Meet. These events are held to celebrate all within geek culture. We’re really open to meeting everyone, regardless of who they are. We ask that everyone who joins us is respectful to one another, which our events are always considered to be good fun. We have our own little internal memes of sorts, which you can get involved with pretty quickly. This month, GeekOut Bristol Meet is going to celebrate the new year’s resolutions that everyone has made – And most importantly, the geeky way they’re going to implement their new year’s resolutions.

18+ Event

Happy new year GeekOut fans and friends, for we’ve added another year to our lives. Once you’ve finished celebrating the new year, come and join us and share with us your passion for board games and more, as we gather once again for GeekOut Bristol Meet!

FOODIE PRE-MEET
———————–

If you’re joining us for GeekOut Bristol Meet this January 11th, then why not join us for a pre-meetup meal? The polls close on Sunday 6th January, so if you’re joining us for the pre-meetup, then join us over on Facebook or Meetup, or even in the comments if you don’t want to comment through either other method.

So, wanna grab some grub with us before the event? Pick from one of these options and share it as mentioned above:

  • Casa Brasil, Cabot Circus
  • Giraffe, Cabot Circus
  • Nandos, Cabot Circus

Cutting back the carbs? Gonna clear your Steam library? Buying more board games? Reading more?

What are your new year’s resolutions?! Come join us, share your new year’s resolutions and show us how proudly geeky you’re going to be this 2019!

Oh and while you’re at it, let’s play some games and have great geeky conversation.

PLEASE NOTE:

Food & drink can NOT be brought in with you to the Old Market Tavern. If you are caught with food and drink on the premises, you will be asked to leave until you’ve disposed of your food or drink.

There will be a food menu at Old Market Tavern in the evening! The food is cheap and it’s delicious – usually available from 6pm.

Final note: If you are asked for ID by the bar staff, we will not vouch for your age – You must provide ID.

COSPLAYERS

Is this year going to be a big year for cosplay for you? Why not rep your favourite characters and show us what cool costumes you’ve been working on?

COMPETITION: New Year’s Resolutions
———————–

Image taken from GeekOut Shrewsbury Meet 20/12/18

The New Year’s Resolutions competition is pretty simple: Share your resolution with us… Haha I kid, there’s more to it.

You’ll get a sheet, which you’ll be able to write what the resolution is. Then you’ll explain how you’ll achieve it. The geekiest entry will win. The sheet will be available printed on the day, but it’ll be on here.

1st Place: £25, a GeekOut poster and first dibs on a physical prize.
2nd Place: £15, a GeekOut poster and second dibs on a physical prize.
3rd Place: £10, a GeekOut poster and whatever’s left of the physical prizes.

The physical prizes we have for this month’s meetup are: A 2019 desk block calendar, a fantastic leather-bound journal to organise your year and a motivational book of quotes – Because we all need motivation each year, don’t we? No? Just me? Okay then.

As part of our commitment to being a great night out, we do not discriminate based upon age (although our min age requirement is venue policy), disability, gender, race, religion or sexuality. If at any point you feel you need to speak to someone about another’s actions, please grab the host (Timlah) and we’ll sort it out!

So what are you waiting for? RSVP to GeekOut Bristol Meet today:
