To reboot something is to give it fresh life, to revive a series long gone. Sometimes, this is done because of fan input and other times, it’s done completely out of the blue. Either way, we know that when something is rebooted, it can bring an entirely new direction to the series. As such, today, we’re here to list our Top 10 Reboots.
A world ravaged by vampires and ancient men of power, powerful Hamon energy must be harnessed to defeat the evil undead. When Hamon isn’t enough, the powerful mental companions known as Stands take centrestage. The world of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is everything its namesake would have you believe – It’s an adventure and hoo boy, is it bizarre. From beautifully manly men, to the most dangerous of manipulators, JoJo, or whichever variant of JoJo we’re talking about, has to rid the world of an evil that plagues the Earth.
But enough about that, is the anime actually any good?
Would you believe that’s the shorter title?
Shrewsbury has just had a busy weekend, pouring into the growing geeky community we have played host to a Steampunk festival for which I rearranged some booked holiday time to ensure I’d be free to attend, and then I foolishly organised an all-day Dungeons & Dragons marathon for the sake of advertising the new business on the same weekend. So I squeezed a couple of hours out of the festival on the Saturday before D&D on the Sunday, let’s talk about that one first.
A secret hobby of mine, when I’m not in the middle of playing yet another round of Tekken, is to unlock Steam achievements. I don’t know why; there’s not really many reasons for doing it, bar for bragging rights, but I just enjoy it. Perhaps it’s the application of gamification within, well, what you can do in a video game. It takes your game from hard to ludicrous, or from easy to challenging, depending on the severity of the achievement. My obsession started in the realm of MMOs and yes, I believe that achievements, including Steam achievements, becomes a game in itself.
You know, this is a weird article for me to write, as I stopped playing Pokemon Go actively around a year ago. I kept it installed for all this time, before I finally uninstalled it a few weeks back. However, when Jake asked me to go on out for a long walk with him, to just walk with him to catch Pokemon, I figured it’d be an interesting day out. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve walked around the centre of Bristol many times before, but I figured there’d be a buzz about the area, especially since the game was so popular upon release. How much of that magic was retained? How much of that sense of community is even still there? As we walked, I found out some shockingly fun truths about the Pokemon Go spirit in 2018.
With the release of Noctis on Tekken 7 this past Tuesday, I felt it was only appropriate to check out another Final Fantasy product. Whilst I could review any game within the franchise, including the incredible Final Fantasy Tactics series, I felt that I’d pick on something relatively new. Weighing in at a whopping 1.5gb on my phone, Final Fantasy Brave Exvius is one of the latest attempts at storming Android and iOS by Square Enix. How does Brave Exvius stand up to other mobile titles, how ad-heavy is it and more importantly, what do you actually do on it?
Bunnies! Rabbits! These little hopping critters are everywhere and they typically make up fodder and small distractions in video games, but nevertheless, they are a much loved type of creature. With their cottontails and their floppy ears, a bunny is a creature which is often depicted around Easter time, as they represent reproduction. In this Top 10, we’ll celebrate the bunnies that make up video games, anime, film and more.

My biggest qualm with DC heroes is their sheer power. Their top members are indomitable, possessing such a wide array of abilities or a power that proves to have so many applications that they seemingly have no limit. To create a threat that makes for an interesting story you have to meet power with power, or approached from an angle it cannot prepare for. Where Marvel tells stories of people warring against one another, DC tells stories of giants in a playground. Spider-Man has Doctor Octopus, Superman fights Doomsday. (more…)
