Happy New Year From GeekOut South-West
January 1st has finally hit us and oh my word, what a whirlwind of emotions last year was for a lot of us. It was a year we’re going to remember for many years to come and you know what..? That’s not necessarily a bad thing. Perhaps it’s put the fire underneath us to let us jump to our feet and take charge of what we do – Perhaps it’s just made us more miserable than ever. No matter what it’s done for you, we’re here to say that we hope 2017 is good to you – and we’re hoping we can do some great things in 2017 to help you along your way. But what is happening this year and what do you have to look forward to? Here’s a few things…
Spiderman Homecoming sound like fun to you? What about the last film in the Logan series of films, AKA Old Man Logan? Are you excited to finally see Episode VIII of Star Wars, or are you really looking forward to the next Pirates of the Caribbean film? We mentioned all of these in this past Saturday’s Top 10 – The last Top 10 of 2016 and we were quite excited by the amount of amazing films that were coming up this year. If films in 2017 are anywhere near as good as the ones in 2016, then I think we’ll be onto a right winner. This is an exciting time for cinema – So here’s hoping they don’t mess up now!
The Nintendo Switch is slated to be released quite early (March) this year. Whether or not this happens is another matter, but the point is that they’ve said it’s going to happen, so here’s hoping that it definitely does. But not only this, we’re going to see a lot of reboots. We’re going to see a lot of sequels to pre-existing franchises and boy oh boy, I think we’re going to be spoilt for choice in 2017. It’s going to be a good year for video games – and I hope we can begin playing some of these new titles ASAP! I’m looking forward to the near future of video games.
The new brand of our website will be GeekOut UK.com – Which is a weird name the more that I think about it. I didn’t link it, as at the moment nothing is there – but trust me: It’s on the way. I hate the fact that it’s delayed as it is, as I hate to be thought of as just delay after delay – but I promise that when it’s out, it’ll be something truly memorable. Hopefully, more of you will come to join us on a more permanent basis once the new site is live.
There’s a lot more going on this year than just Films, the website and Video Games, but that’s all I could think of to talk about in a short post. There’s going to be some amazing anime, some brilliant cosplay and definitely some excellent comics and technology happening this year – But what are you looking forward to the most in 2017? As always, leave a comment below, or over on Facebook, Twitter or Reddit.
