GeekOut Bristol Meet – August 13th: STEAMPUNK Gallery
Another month has passed us by and the GeekOut Bristol Meet has come and gone once more, but don’t fret, we’ll be back with another amazing event next month. In the mean time, you can relive all of what happened this past Saturday via our gallery. Join Timlah as we talk about the happenings at GeekOut Bristol Meet this past August 13th.
I love a good meetup, especially when they’re full of people who seriously know how to get their geek on. From people who are keen to show off their creativity to those who just love a good game, people came from all over the west country to join us for a day of activities. Whether their geekdom is video games, trading card games or simply just love a bit of Steampunk and socialising, this months event didn’t disappoint.
We had people in full blown Steampunk attire, with some amazing costumes that took centre stage for our GeekOut competition for the month. We had people who were seriously geared up this month (get it? Geared… Ah I crack myself up!) We had an amazing cosplay competition and to make it more interesting, we threw a spanner in the works and asked for people to quickly (basically on the spot) come up with a character for their Steampunk attire.
Thanks to Julian Weir for this awesome picture of everyone who was around at the end of the competition. Dave (the guy with the red robes and the welders mask on) was our third place entrant:

The competition was won by Steve Williams in his stunning Steampunk costume. He must have been sweltering the whole day! Thanks to all who attended this past weeks’ GeekOut Bristol Meetup, but for the rest of you, let us know what you think in the comments below, or over on Facebook, Twitter and Reddit. Until next month, this has been another GeekOut Bristol Meetup Gallery, over and out.
